Greetings SBPS Parents and Friends:
We are well into February and look forward to holding second trimester conferences next week. Parents should have received emails from homeroom teachers inviting them to sign up either for an in person conference on Thursday, Feb 13th evening, or a virtual conference on Friday, Feb 14th during the day. If you’d like to sign up for a conference with a STEAM teacher please use the link in the post below. Progress reports will be emailed on Tuesday after school so parents have pertinent information to prepare for the conference. We will also send home iReady Winter Diagnostics by Wednesday afternoon so parents can have those prior to the conference. We want this mid-year check in to help celebrate growth and accomplishments, while helping to formulate goals for the remainder of the year…we are already just past the half-way point!
This month our Bengals are honoring and celebrating Black History Month. Each day we learn an interesting fact about US Black History and enjoy Black musical artists at the end of the day. On Tuesdays, we have a class trivia competition. We are grateful to be in a Catholic school that welcomes diversity and honors the gift of each and every person.
Tomorrow, our teachers will be gathering for a professional development day. We are using this day to facilitate a faith-retreat for our teachers and staff. Given the recent loss of Father Steve and supporting each other through this grief, as well as supporting colleagues who are facing health issues and personal challenges, this time in prayer, reflection and conversation is very much needed. Please keep our staff in your prayers for a meaningful and restorative retreat.

Lord, we offer our prayers on behalf of our president.
Draw him into a strong relationship with You.
Give our president a true servant spirit,
one who is a person after Your own heart.
Anoint him with the Holy Spirit’s power,
that he might feel Your strength in every situation.
Let integrity and honesty guide every decision
as he looks to You for divine help.
Turn his heart to the people he serves.
Make him a leader and enlighten his mind
with discernment, wisdom, and fairness.
