UPDATE: St. Benedict Parish Education Endowment News
Education Endowment Update
Part of the legacy of St. Benedict High School (1950-2019) is our education endowment. Currently our endowment has grown to over $290,000.
Its established intent is to provide a savings account for our school whose funds are managed by the archdiocese. Annual awarding of scholarships is a way the endowment assists current families who have children enrolled. These scholarships are named for key individuals who made an impact on the community during their time here. Each scholarship is awarded for an academic talent or Christian virtue that exemplifies our unique program. The endowment oversight committee has recently approved the updating of the scholarship program to allow various scholarships to be awarded to rising students in grades 4-8 as well as certain ones that are strictly for our rising middle school grade students to apply. All the awards have been increased or maintained at $1,000 each.
We are excited to roll out the new applications during National Discover Catholic Schools Week this November. Applications will be available beginning on Monday, November 18. Applications are due by Friday, December 13th. Award announcements will be made during Catholic Schools Week at the end of January 2025.
